Planning a swim spa installation starts with your site and the model you choose. We deliver to Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. Delivery is $1,000 in Calgary; delivery elsewhere is quoted. You hire a crane company to lift the swim spa into place and arrange an electrician to connect it.
We help organise the crane and provide the swim spa details the crane company needs. We can also tell you what is likely possible at your site based on our experience. Financing is available through Vault Credit and Financeit; see our financing page.
How delivery and installation works
- Check the site. Contact our team with your location and the model you are considering. We usually check the site using Google Maps and photos you send us. The crane company will often visit the site. Use the spec sheet on your model’s product page to review its dimensions.
- Prepare a level base. We can refer contractors for base preparation. Swim spas are extremely heavy, and the base must be level. Tell your contractor this clearly. Concrete pads are usually poured with a slope, or grade, unless you specify otherwise. A 10-inch road crush base can also be used in most cases.
- Arrange an electrician. You hire the electrician for the electrical connection. We have a few recommendations. Share the spec sheet for your chosen model with your electrician.
- Hire a crane company. Every swim spa must be mechanically lifted into place. You hire the crane company, and we help organise the lift and supply the swim spa details. We have seen crane quotes from $700 to $6,000. The cost varies widely, mostly based on how close the crane can get to the pad.
- Receive your swim spa. Delivery brings the swim spa to your site, where the crane company lifts it into place. Delivery is $1,000 in Calgary and quoted elsewhere in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. Our team removes all packaging and installs the cover lifter if you purchased one.
- Connect, fill and start up. Your electrician connects the swim spa, then you fill it with a hose or arrange a water truck. Filling with a hose can take 10+ hours. We can do a video call with you at start-up.
Getting your site ready
Use the spec sheet on your model’s product page when planning the base, electrical work and crane access. Review the site with us and the crane company before arranging changes to your property.
Base or pad
Your swim spa needs a level base. Swim spas are extremely heavy. We can refer contractors to help with base preparation.
Concrete pads are usually poured with a slope, or grade, unless you specify otherwise. Tell your contractor that the pad must be level for a swim spa. A 10-inch road crush base can also be used in most cases.
Access and crane placement
Access depends on your site. All swim spas must be mechanically lifted. Check the dimensions in the spec sheet on your model’s product page, then review access through the site check.
We usually use Google Maps and photos from you to review the site. The crane company will often visit as well. How close the crane can get to the pad is the main factor affecting crane cost.
Electrical preparation
You arrange an electrician to connect your swim spa. We have a few electricians we can recommend. Give your electrician the spec sheet for your model so they can review its requirements and plan the work.
The electrical connection comes before filling the swim spa.
Permits
Check with the City of Calgary or your own municipality about the requirements for your property and installation.
Where we deliver
We deliver swim spas to Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. Delivery is $1,000 in Calgary; delivery elsewhere in these provinces is quoted. When you ask about delivery to your address, include your location and the model you are considering.
The swim spa price does not include delivery ($1,000 in Calgary, quoted elsewhere) or installation. The price does include the cover, with upgrade covers available. You may also need stairs and a cover lifter, which cost extra. Crane hire, base preparation and electrical work are separate costs. For a budget breakdown, read our swim spa cost guide.
