Other costs to plan for

Start with the swim spa price, then plan for delivery, site preparation and ongoing care.

  • Delivery: Delivery is $1,000 in Calgary and brings the swim spa to your site. Delivery elsewhere in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan is quoted. Our team removes all packaging and installs the cover lifter if you purchased one.
  • Crane: All swim spas must be mechanically lifted into place, by a crane company you hire. We help organise the crane, provide the swim spa details the company needs and can tell you what is likely possible based on our experience. We have seen crane quotes from $700 to $6,000. Costs vary widely, mostly based on how close the crane can get to the pad.
  • Base: The base must be level. Swim spas are extremely heavy. Concrete pads are usually poured with a slope, or grade, unless you specify otherwise. Tell your contractor the pad must be level for a swim spa. A 10-inch road crush base can also be used in most cases. We can refer contractors for this work.
  • Electrical: You hire an electrician to connect the swim spa. We have a few electricians we can recommend. Share your model’s spec sheet with your electrician.
  • Stairs and cover lifter: Budget for these extras if you need them. The included cover can also be upgraded at extra cost.
  • Permits: Check with the City of Calgary or your own municipality about requirements and any fees.
  • Water and filling: You fill the swim spa with a hose or arrange a water truck. Include the cost of water or water truck service in your budget. Filling with a hose can take 10+ hours.
  • Running cost and chemicals: Plan for roughly $100–$200 per month to run, plus about $50 a month for chemicals. This is an estimate, and your costs will vary.
